I love Ventura. Our location between the foothills and the ocean is unique and beautiful. We have great beaches, parks and bike paths, and a picturesque harbor. Our downtown is historic, eclectic and alive. Our community is diverse, vibrant and friendly.

I see a great need in our city for collaborative efforts which will maintain and improve the quality of life for all our citizens. Carefully balancing environmental, agricultural, social and economic interests is vital to the future prosperity and health of Ventura residents and to the protection of our precious natural resources.

Since 2003, I have served as a Ventura City Councilmember, with two years as mayor. I have made decisions only after listening to various points of view, with the best interests of the people in mind.

I serve on the City Council with a moderate, balanced, common sense approach. I work with the citizens of Ventura and the city staff to make decisions with vision, fairness and fiscal responsibility.
